Mama Told Me (Not to Come)
1) This song is about a
lad who didn't take his mother's advice and attended the wild party anyway
(hear it here). When you were young, did your parents
approve of your friends? If you're a parent yourself, how have
you handled it when your kids start hanging
around with friends you're not crazy
about?
I was lucky. When I was growing up there were just six of us that ran together and had AWESOME times. We were always together, except when we had a date, and even then... but we mostly spent our times at my friend Deb's parents house. My parents liked all of my friends. Most of the moms were teachers, so they all kind of knew each other anyway. When my step kids were growing up we were very involved in church and youth groups, so they kids grew up with the youth group and the youth pastor and his wife and kids. We had a nice pool as well, so most evenings were spent at our house during the summer, and my husband had a few cars that he tinkerd with during the winter, and most of the guys were out in the garage with him. They also spent most of the winter in front of our fireplace watching movies. Truly blessed I was!!

ReplyDeleteLove this picture of your mom.
I miss mine too.
:)
Vicks on cracked heels! That is genius! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI never knew that about Vicks, either! I use a pumice on my heels in the shower, that seems to work really well. And I'm in Michigan. 40 this morning. Ugh.
