- I am not really too sure about how I am feeling. I have been pretty sick now for almost a month. Naturally, I haven't done anything about it except research, kill myself with cleanses, make myself sicker with 'health' drinks... ugh. So now, my latest THING I am going to get on a kick about is Gluten Free.
- Here are some things I have picked up on , on this uber confusing website. I CAN eat... Spinach, Brussel Sprouts, tomatoes, celery, apples, bananas, berries, cherries, squash, cauliflower, grapes, nuts and oranges. Naturally Gluten-Free
Some foods are naturally free of gluten. Here are some examples:
milk not flavored with ingredients that contain gluten, such as malt
100 percent fruit or vegetable juices
fresh fruits and vegetables
butter
eggs
lentils
peanuts
seeds, such as flax
tree nuts, such as almonds
non-gluten-containing grains, such as corn
fresh fish, such as cod
fresh shellfish, such as clams
honey
water, including bottled, distilled, and spring - Gortons Grilled Fish is Gluten Free. yum.
- There is an entire website dedicated to Gluten Free Chicken recipes http://www.yummly.com/recipes/gluten-free-baked-chicken
- Am I doing the right thing? I guess all I can do is TRY this for a month or so and see what happens. Next shopping trip I will dedicate to buying the above and next Sunday I will clean the fridge of all the things that indicate 'bad'. Something has to help. This is getting ridiculous.
- I have been, for my brown bagged lunch, baking a chicken breast then letting it cool, I slice it thin and make a sandwich. But, I am not using gluten free bread. Now, if wraps are GF, I'll be in heaven! Chicken, lettuce and tomatoes would be perfect, and fish for the nights I am home. I think I can survive that.
- I can't remember when I have had a better weekend. My sister and I had such a great day the day of my brother's surgery. (which for those who have asked, went well. Surgery at 530. Recovery where he was wide awake and laughing at 1130. home by 4 and he actually did laundry that evening). We were at the Cleveland Clinic by 430, he went in at 5. We waited til we could see him, which was actually around 1145-1200, then we left, went to Whole Foods then Cheesecake Factory, then shopping. We got home around 5-6 and I CRASHED. It was such a beautiful evening that I laid across the bed 'for an hour' with the windows open and the warm breeze in the bedroom on my freshly ironed sheets....10pm, I woke up! Went out and shut the lights off, shut the door and the TV off. Checked my facebook (of course) and my phone, where I found a message from my sis asking if I wanted to go to West Virginia on Saturday. I was half tempted to say no just to hang around the house, but it was nieces we were heading to see so I couldn't resist. We left in the morning, took some clothes to a fund raiser and sheets, blankets and towels to the Animal Rescue then we were on our way!! Got to Morgantown and picked up my niece and her boyfriend and took them to lunch. Then we headed to Waynesborough to my other nieces soccer game, and then in the evening headed back to Morgantown. Left for home around 8 with alot of things from my nieces room (she moves back home for the summer on Friday) so they aren't overloaded moving her back. Anyway, sadly I missed church, my ex called me "are we going today"?? Oh geeze oh Pete. So, I'll be back on schedule this week. Last week was great visiting times too. I had breakfast a couple of time with a friend of mine, then dinner one night with Becks, Lunch with my brother then kind of a high school friends night at Ruby Tuesdays! Guess what I had!!!!!!!!!! yes, crab cake and the salad bar. I'm going to suggest dinner there one night this week to my ex. Crab ... Salmon... gluten free??
- I have a 50.oo gift card for MVR so we may have to go there soon too. Italian may not exactly be GF though!!!!
- Well, its 342, I leave work today at 530 because of a dinner at the Georgetown for the Boardman Civic Assn. I'm excited about spending another evening with my sis.
- I just want to say, I am so blessed. I cannot say that enough, but I am.
