Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
a horrible mess
16. What is your earliest memory?
riding my bike in the leaves in the street
17. How much schooling have you had?
13 years of school (I was held back in the 6th grade) 1 year at YSU (which I think I am going to go back to for Accounting) and 3 terms at National
18. Did you enjoy school?
I had some great years, but since I spent 3 years as a bald preteen, some years were fucked up beyond belief.
19. Stop and count, Since you were born until today; how many homes have you lived in?
Erie st. Evergreen. Philadelphia. Cricket. Moody Ave. West Blvd. Maple Spring Dr. Western Reserve. St Andrews. Remmet. Mystic Street. Annawan Lane. 12
20. While growing up, did you have any role models?
my cousin Sue
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I ADORED my grandma and my sister and brother and all of my cousins, we were all so close, and my aunties were THE BEST. As long as I was behaving , my mother bothered with me, and I don't ever remember kind words exchanged between my dad and myself. :(
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
as a little kid, a nun. in high school and college, a cop.
23. What were your favorite activities 3 years ago?
I don't remember 3 years ago. I have blocked it out purposely.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
if you don't mind, I really can't talk about it. posting about my life a few days ago took everything out of me and I ... just can't do it again.
25. As a child, were you popular?
no, I was chubby and had red hair . after I got out of that 'ugly duckling' I think I was pretty popular as a freshman and up. I had a mentoring teacher that taught me life skills and watched as I lived them out. Not many people liked Miss Krimmer, but she changed my life. My social life.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
probably Kevin Daughtery. He's dead now, but my first kiss that ever meant anything to me would have been Mark Sullivan. My friend Patty and Mark and Frank and I went to a bonfire after a game one night and there were just a bunch of us drinking and singing and having a great time, and when Mark and I went to get some beers, he kissed me. I melted. He went to Ursuline and was really a catch. He broke u p with Patty and I wasn't really 'with' Frank, we just played around together in HS, and I ended up dating Mark for about 3 months. I lost Patty and a friend, although we have since reunited on FB, but I am sure that Mark Sullivan made something of himself. He was ... 'DREAMY'!! and intelligent. and sweet.
27. Describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Yes, Mrs Jewell was my HomeEc teacher and my girlfriends mom. She really mentored me in baking and being able to (this is kind of weird) but be like a homemaker. Or hostess, or social with food. One day I was listening to something on the radio, I guess it was in the late 80s or early 90s where they were discussing telling people how they impacted your life. I called Mrs Jewel, Barb was living in NYC by then, and asked if I could come over on the weekend. I was excited that I was going to see her, and hopefully make her day by telling her what she did for me ( I was at that time the executive pastry chef at Tippi). On the Wednesday before I was to go over, Mrs Jewel was making a turn out of Walmart in Austintown, and a drunk driver ran a red light and hit her. She died on the scene.
