I Saw the Light
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: I Saw the Light
1. Has something ever made you "see the light"?
www.lovefraud.com and in hindsite, when I was asked if I would divorce my husband if he went to California 'to get healthy'. Now I see why the question was asked. I never realized another plan was already in the works. So, yes, but it takes me awhile!!!!!!!!!
2. Do you believe you have any control over your luck?
I don't believe in luck. God already has it all planned out.
3. What is something you have had difficulty rising above?
being lied to, by the ones I trusted. last night I was told by some girlfriends that I would be much happier if I just got laid. If they only knew...
4. Would you want to be rich?
No, but I wouldn't mind being comfortable. Or even just 'catch a break' now and again.
5. Tell us about a current or old song that helps you "face the world."
When Paul and I split up from living together before we got married, Quarterflash's "I'm Gonna Harden My Heart" got me through it. But he was pretty smart. It took him exactly 2 weeks to propose to me after that. It was too late, I moved back in with my parents and told him that he had to 'court me' ... then eventually ask me again.
6. Has any dream of yours come true?
many of my dreams have come true. i was married for 20 years and raised 5 wonderful children. I had a successful career (really, I did!!) for 30 years. i owned 2 awesome homes (not awesome by others standards, but awesome to us). and I spent a week in Key West!
I still have dreams...
7. What would you change if you became "the king or queen" of your country?
No Rap Music. And, if you are on death row, you get one appeal then OFF WITH YOUR HEAD. liars and frauds would be exposed for who they are. Education would be affordable, and there would be educators that had a passion for teaching...children and adults. And no crime would go unpunished, or punished with a slap on the wrist. obviously no one would want me!!
8. How do you feel about LGBT rights? (If you need to look up LGBT, then you probably need to learn more.)
9. Have you ever been disappointed in yourself?
more times than not. but things are changing slowly. i have a bank account that is never negative. i have 3 untouched credit cards. i have wonderful people in my life and I am getting an education. Mostly, I do have a dream... and I am learning to save and work my arse off to make it happen. alone. not being able to keep a husband is truly a disappointment to me. but, eventually it'll all fall into place. Its in God's hands.

I have always believed Cousin in my #3 was a sociopath. He was not particularly charming tho.
ReplyDeleteIts hard for ME to not think I AM sometimes!!!! But I'll be fine. Finally getting there!! SLOWLY!!!
DeleteYour luck with people has not been promising. The honesty and faith from my dogs is what I can truly trust without reservation.
ReplyDeleteNo, Jim it hasn't. I so want to trust people but I cannot anymore. I have such great friends in my life, but I don't wander away from that circle. My mom lives with me but she is still at 82 very verbally abusive, but God says' that we must honor our parents... I'm trying. Thank God for my dogs (and cat) for being loyal and loving! And you too, Jim, I love getting your messages!
DeleteI love that song. Now I'm singing it in my head..
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your Saturday!
