Nicholas Petrella, 65

Boardman: Rev. Gregory Maturi and Rev. Edward Noga will con-celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Church for Nicholas Petrella, 65, who passed away Thursday morning.

Nick was born December 20, 1946 in Youngstown, the son of Angelo and Ann Visa Petrella.

He was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and attended Kent State and Youngstown State University where he was a member of the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity.

Besides Nick’s family being the most important thing in his life, Nick loved being the proud owner of the Boulevard Tavern and carrying on his family’s legacy. Throughout the years he was a mentor and father to the many young men who were a part of his Boulevard family.

Nick was a friend to many, cherishing each one of his friends as though they were his “best” friend. He treated everyone with the respect they deserved.

His creative talent is reflected in all he has done. He always loved being asked to share his talent and did so, never saying “no”.

His greatest moments of joy came from being at the beach with his wife, children and extended family, creating many years of wonderful memories.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Francie Andrews Petrella whom he married February 23, 1980; his sons, Julian (Christina) and Jordan; and a daughter, Adrienne Petrella all of New York City. He also leaves a sister Sheryl Petrella of Gahana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Nicole.

The Petrella family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Calling hours will not be held Monday morning at the funeral home; but family and friends are invited to be present at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Church to celebrate Nick’s Mass of Christian Burial.
